I don’t have to go back to the NYU Cancer Center for a whole 2 days! They are actually giving me the weekend off, which is pretty great. It’s cold outside these days! Apparently everyone I talk to is getting a cold front right now, except for my friends Laura and Ferm out in San Diego. Laura was complaining that it had dipped down into the 50’s over Thanksgiving. That must be rough! Haha.
This cold weather has brought about an entirely new side to my wardrobe though. I’ve never considered myself much of a scarf guy, but man do they make a difference in weather like this! When that wind is blowing, there are few things more necessary than an extra layer, and a scarf fills in nicely. I’ve got some great long ones from JCrew that are doing a good job and just picked up a new one from Brooks Brothers too.
Tomorrow we were hoping to go to the B&H Photography Superstore again, but thankfully I looked online and discovered that they are closed on Saturday. There were a lot of Jewish people working there, but I didn’t realize that it was actually a Jewish store. They are closed and do not take online orders on Saturdays. From now I will think of them as the Jewish Chick-fil-a of the photography world. Because obviously we should put everything in terms of Chick-fil-a whenever possible!
Speaking of photography, my beautiful girlfriend Ashley just sent me a link to an open call for entries for a contest held by the 3rd Ward here in NYC. A jury will be selecting the winner, who will be commissioned to live in NYC and create a body of work for a private show, but there is also a popular vote with a prize associated with it. If you are reading this and have a second to spare, I’d appreciate you swinging by http://www.3rdwardopencall.com/RobGregory and giving me 5 stars on the ranking system! I figure these things are all pretty much doled out based on luck and what a particular jury member had for breakfast that day, but figured I’d put my name in the hat all the same! If you do swing by, thank you for your vote!
