Sunday Night!!!

Sunday = football. Especially if you are involved in a fantasy football league. I am in five… but only 2 that count (money at stake)

Hopefully the Giants won’t tee off on the Cowboys today, but that’s just about a foregone conclusion at this point. However, for my cancer patient Make-A-Wish request of the week, I would like a 2 TD game from Arian Foster, Peyton Hillis, Reggie Wayne, and Brandon Lloyd. Is that how this works?

My parents are currently out looking for our new apartment. They found some amazing places yesterday and are looking at a few more today, so hopefully we’ll have officially signed on a new apartment here in the next day or two!

The family dynamics of the people that move in and out of this room are very interesting, especially when placed in these high-stress situations. So far I have been the constant, with a revolving door on the other 3 partitions of the room. The interactions you witness during these times of upheaval can be both touching and disturbing at the same time. It makes me feel even more fortunate for the close love of family and friends that don’t cause these split factions and loyalties. Upon being diagnosed,┬áMema and Joan immediately started hounding doctors to get things moving forward as quickly as possible,┬ámy sister LeeAnne dropped everything in Dallas to come take care of the dog so we could see Dr. Rosen in New York. My parents arranged to get me in to see the best doctor in the Sarcoma field, my girlfriend Ashley has been a constant source of joy and encouragement, and the list goes on and on. I can not thank each and every one of you enough for your notes and outpouring of support. It helps more than you or I would have thought, and it’s always nice to get caught up again with old friends!

I hope this Sunday find’s you all doing well, and despite everything we seem to be facing in these uncertain times…. GO COWBOYS!!!!! (<– And yes, this is all a football reference)

    Dear Rob,

I wanted to let you know that we are praying for you! Your family means so much to us. Your Mom and I have been in a bible study for years now and I’ve prayed for you kids as you’ve grown up. Now today and the days ahead I will pray for healing and strength to endure all the medicine running through your body. I’m so thankful of the miracles that you have all ready experienced with finding a great Dr. and the speed of which things have been done. God is a big God and your creator so I am sure he can shrink that tumor and help the Dr. to remove it all. We are asking HIM for that.
Thanks for blogging so we can know how to pray daily. You are in the best hands!

    Trusting God with you,
    Cindy and Joe Schuster

I have appointed myself as the Grammar Thorn-In-Your-Side. Being a college English instructor, I recognize good writing when I see it, and yours is superb. I have only noticed one error so far : “faceing”. Don’t make me correct you again. I’ll be reading closely. Lydia Ann Breedlove

Sounds like a plan. I’m chalking that one up to the sleep meds they’ve been pumping in my system. Just let me know if you MANAGE to find another! Haha

If you have to be sick this “age of miracles” is probably a good time-Dallas did win today, right!
Reading your blogs has made me aware of your excellent writing ability and I thought you might write a book of your experiences, however before that we may see a NYU Hospital manuel of do’s and don’ts for new admits on checking driving history before letting them take laps with a ferrari or leaving them alone with chemo- hazmat situations cause increased anxiety and disruptions of coffee breaks; not good!
Sorry to hear you are homeless in NY City; hope you find something soon, it is getting cold up there. Maybe Donald has a place you can hold-up in for awhile.
Seriously, I hope you are doing well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and family.
I appreciate your blogs. Regards to your mom and dad.
    Love, Ray and Lynn
p.s. :Don’t let the english teacher see this.

Hi Rob, I have worked for your Dad a few times at IBM and am getting updates from him regularly. I’m sorry you have to go through this but know your positive attitude will make all the difference. I’m very happy your forgone conclusion was wrong…I’m the biggest Cowboy fan in the world!!! I’m going to find blog appropriate jokes to post as I believe laughter keeps the healing juices flowing. Here’s to great sleep meds and more Cowboy victories.

    God bless,
